Since this is my own run I won’t comment on it other than to say I was incredibly happy to have beaten the Stage 5 boss with so little time on the clock. The twitch video of the run can be viewed by clicking the date link above.

Marcus showed a good performance in Metal Storm and was very adept on the Speeder Bikes in Stage 3 of Battletoads but sadly crashed out just sort of completing it. He also did well with Contra though he struggled with Metroid in the last part of the trial.
On May 5th, 2015 Patrick Corpin logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
I’d like to thank Pat for participating as he was a real good sport about coming out and logging his time to help the league. You can watch the video below to see how he did.
On April 10th, 2015 Timothy Gent logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League at ThatGameStore when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
Tim’s best performance of the day was Legend of Zelda where he scored a second place time. Unfortunately his second place scoring alone wasn’t enough to bring him into the next round and he was elimated this round.
On April 10th, 2015 Marcus McBride logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League at ThatGameStore when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
On December 29th, 2014 Josh Davis logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League at ThatGameStore when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
Josh Davis pulled through with a performance that was good enough to bring him into the next round by tying for second in Sonic and Knuckles and getting a third place score in Ms. Pac-Man.
Josh “XeCuTioNR” Davis will be taking on the Old-Schooled challenge on December 29th at 6PM. Josh is one of the top players in Old-Schooled history. Josh first participated in the old-schooled tourney with the second Tournament and has the unique honor being the winner of both “Abaddon’s Challenge” tournaments, #10 and #20, both tournaments filled with the hardest challenges in Old-Schooled history which included challenges like Ninja Gaiden stage 7-1, Death Egg Zone, and Silver Surfer the Magik Realm. He’s been thwarted by Nick Skogstad in the past and will definitely be looking to prove himself in the beginner round for a shot at defeating his nemesis.
You can come see him play live at That Game Store in person or watch him on twitch.tv at Furluge’s and That Game Store’s channels! Since this is a live event and some setup time is needed the broadcast is not scheduled to start until 6:30PM.
On November 30th, 2014 Nick Skogstad logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League at ThatGameStore when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
Nick is the current favorite to win the season, but if there is anything his performance today shows it’s that everyone needs to practice. His stand out performance was in Legend of Zelda, the game he got the most practice in with a stunning time of 5:23. However a few simple mistakes in Sonic & Knuckles lead to early deaths and a stunning Game Over in the final part of Act 2 of Flying Battery Zone when he ran into pitfalls he hadn’t encountered during his warm-up.
On November 17th, 2014 Sebastien Veland logged his trial for Season 1 of the Old-Schooled League at ThatGameStore when he took on the four challenges for the Beginner round. Here’s how he did.
Sebastien’s stand out performance this far into the league was Ms. Pac-Man where he logged the highest score yet at 22,220. He also claims the fastest defeat of the boss of the Eastern Palace, quickly dispatching the last red knight with the bow and arrow before it’s new attack pattern could even begin. His run through also had a stark reminder of just how harsh retro games can be when in Sonic & Knuckles the game refused to acknowledged he jumped into the spinning wire drum because he had jumped a pixel too high when entering it, plummeting Sonic to his death.
Nick “Rufe” Skogstad will be taking on the Old-Schooled challenge on November 30th at 3PM. Nick is know for being one of the top players in the history of Old-Schooled. Nick’s first appearance was in the second Old-Schooled tournament where he came in first place, logging an impressive 80,500 in Super Ghouls and Ghosts on the SNES. He has also won both the 17th and 16th Old-Schooled tournaments, defeating Josh Davis and Evan Small respectively. He is the current favorite to win, though his strength has always lied in adapting to new surprise games. With all the challenges being announced ahead of time it will be interesting to see how he does this time.
You can come see him play live at That Game Store in person or watch him on twitch.tv at Furluge’s and That Game Store’s channels! Since this is a live event and some setup time is needed the broadcast is not scheduled to start until 3:30PM.
